Story I'm working on for a contest. Should I leave it as is, or continue?
This is a story I'm working on for a +18 m/m or f/f contest with the prompt "What if...someone's 25th birthday turned into something sexual?" Please let me know what comments or suggestions you may have!

Melissa’s 25th birthday party was finally coming to a close after a long Saturday of festivities. It was nearly 2:30 in the morning and all but a few of the guests had gone home. The only friends remaining now were what Melissa had secretly been calling her “VIP list.” She had decided several weeks ago, while planning out her whole big shindig, that she would only allow those of her close friends, that she had complete trust in, to spend the weekend with her at her parents’ vacation home. It’s not that she was paranoid about any of her friends stealing things or anything of that nature, but Melissa was afraid that some of her more “immature” friends, who still acted as if they were 17 and knew no limits, might puke all over the place in the night and leave a mess. She valued her parents’ trust and leaving a completely trashed home for them, whenever they may decide to visit next, was just something she would never do. Plus, cleaning up someone else’s vomit was definitely not on her list of “top favorite things to do with a hangover.”
Melissa, and her five friends on the “VIP list”, lethargically began getting ready for bed. Tony and Debbie, her friends that had been a couple since high school, meandered up the stairway to their bedroom and said their good nights. Jessie, one of her best friends since grade school, wandered her way to the downstairs bathroom to brush her teeth with Cole right behind her. Melissa knew Jessie had been interested in Cole for quite some time and it was obvious that he had a thing for her too. They tried to walk to Jessie’s bedroom downstairs discreetly after finishing up in the bathroom, but it was no use. Melissa and Aurora, the only two left in the living room, couldn’t help but notice and both got a good laugh out of it once the two were out of earshot.
“Did they honestly think they were being ‘sneaky’?” Melissa asked.
Aurora laughed. “Probably. Did you see how much Jessie drank tonight?”
“Well, from what I saw, she had already had too much by midnight, which is when I lost track of her, so I can only imagine! Well, I guess I should be getting to bed too.”
“Okay. You don’t mind if I stay up and watch a movie do you?”
“Of course not. Just try not to let it get too loud. I think Debbie and Tony are planning on leaving fairly early tomorrow morning. Thanks for coming, again. Good night.”
         “Goodnight.”
Melissa climbed the stairs to her own bedroom on the second story. She set the T.V. sleep button for an hour, like she did almost every night, and curled up under the covers. Melissa rolled over and looked at the clock after awhile. It had already been a half an hour.
“Hey,” Melissa called out to Aurora when she reached the bottom of the steps, hoping she wouldn’t scare her if she wasn’t asleep yet.
Aurora’s head popped up quickly over the back of the couch. “Oh, Melissa. I thought you would have been asleep by now,” she frantically searched for the DVD remote. But it was too late.
“What are you watching, Rory?” Melissa made her way into the living room. “I didn’t mean to scare you. I couldn’t fall asleep,” she sat down on the end of the couch Aurora was laying on. Then she finally saw the T.V. screen.
         “Sorry, I was just…”
“Are you watching porn, Rory?” Melissa asked half surprised, half interested.
“Yah,” she drew out, embarrassed. “I’m sorry. I should have went to my…”
“No. It’s okay. You can leave it on.” Melissa paused. “It just kind of surprises me.”
“I don’t think you want to watch this, Mel.” Aurora insisted.
“Why?” she continued watching the screen for longer this time. Melissa paused for a long minute. “Oh. Ooohh,” was all she could finally say.
“I tried to warn you. I hope you don’t think I’m weird or something now,” Aurora was sitting up now and looking at her feet.
“Why? Are you? Oh,” Melissa trailed off.
“No, I’m not a total lesbian. I like guys too, occasionally. But yes, I tend to be more attracted to women than men. There, I said it.” Aurora sighed, somewhat with relief from just being able to tell one of her friends.
“I don’t see anything wrong with that,” Melissa finally looked Aurora straight in the eyes. “Actually, I’ve always wondered what it would be like to be with a woman. Does that make you feel any better?” she tried to laugh.
“Yah, it does, actually, because I’ve been wondering about this for awhile too,” Aurora leaned in and kissed Melissa delicately on the lips. She couldn’t believe that she had finally been bold enough to make a move on Melissa, alcohol involved or not. Aurora pulled away from her and waited for a reaction. They stared at each other for several long seconds without saying a word. Melissa finally leaned in and kissed Aurora more forcefully and passionately than she had been kissed. Just her first little taste of what it was like to kiss someone of the same sex, and she already knew she wanted more.
Aurora couldn’t help but wonder if this was a dream. She had waited for this moment with Melissa for so long and everything seemed surreal.
“Is this really happening?” she asked.
         “Yes,” Melissa breathed heavily.
“Are you sure you’re okay with this?”
“Shut up,” Melissa pulled Aurora on top of her and slipped her tongue inside her mouth when their lips met again.
