This is spun from a song I wrote. Attraction.
So far

It is the same.

So far…

I held to my night

Into the night

And you took no time

To answer.

I know she held you,

Where the clouds don’t move.

She saw you

Where the sun never sets.

And I want to too.

You took me to your house

And showed me your piano.

Said you’ve been playing

But you just can’t write.

And I’ve been writing

But I can’t keep playing

My fingers aren’t used too

This dead dry air.

And it was in between here

And there

That I realized

You may be trouble.

The way your shoulders move

To the rhythm of a strum.

The way my heart misses

Beats-

between your words.

The part of your lips

Let them slip through

And I can’t recall

You said anything at all.

Are these still my hands

Or are your fingers

A part of them?

I could pack it up now

Rush into the dark

But part

Of me would remain.

A part-

I could never reclaim.

You let me into your bedroom

And half of me came out

And now I am just me.

Me.

Me.

Me.

Useless as two letters

Can be.

So far

It is the same.

So far…

I held to my night

Into the night
