When I Close My Eyes

When I close my eyes, your here with me.
Were smiling and happy together again.
It feels so real. I can touch you, feel the
warmth of your hand in mine.
Hold you in my arms once again.

Hear your laugh, see your smile, watch
your face light up when you see
me smile. But my happyness only lasts
for a while. The dream fades away, an
with it so do you. My hearts left empty.

Hollowed out by the pain in my eyes.
Tears begin to drain, staining the
sheet under which I lay. Clutching
tightly I hold on to your teddy bear.
Its all I have here of you.

When I hold it in my arms, I feel close
to you. But it never takes the place of
holding you. It just helps to get me
through everyday. I spend here
without you.
