“My Mother” A mother what is she? Who is she? What does she do? Is she just the woman that birthed you? The dictionary has a definition about her that it gives, But that’s not my mother according to the way that she lives. See my mother did more than just give birth to a child. She’s stern, sweet, strong, but yet she’s mild. She ‘s a doctor with no degree. She’ll open your eyes to things you can’t see. She’s a friend to the friendless in their time of need. Like a lily in the valley she aint no weed. She’s there for me when no one else is around. When I cry at night cause others have let me down. When I fall she’s there to pick me up with encouraging words, And a strong hand. Telling me the Lord will make a way, because can’t nobody do me like Jesus can. With love she cooks, bakes, cleans, and gives to everyone she meets. So full of compassion like Christ she’ll wash your feet. If she could she'd heal the sick, and raise the dead. With her wisdom, and food many hungry folks she’s fed. In her place of worship she’s the mother of the church. On Sunday mornings that is where you’ll find her perched. See to some people she is one thing, and to some she’s another. But for me she will always be my MOTHER! |
