My manager told me to do something constructive with my break at Sbux...I did this.
I had no idea what to do with my half-hour break, so I was just standing around talking to people. My manager told me to do something constructive and then the words "go write a sonnet, or something" came out of his mouth, so I did it. Earlier, he'd told me to write a haiku, so I did that also. I'll post both. Also, I wrote both of these in about 20 minutes, so...they might not be the greatest. They just amused me.

Oh, by the way, I work at Starbucks...which explains why this is about coffee.

HAIKU-
To Coffee:

The white of blown steam
Atop the burning darkness
Calms the cruel, cruel heat.

SONNET-
The Wondrous Brew

My coffee tastes of earthen muck and dirt
But with the sweetness of the leaf and bloom.
To me it brings the warmth of home's comfort
And so three cups a day do I consume.
A morning cup to wake the heart and mind;
Another to sustain my aching head;
One last big cup at night I seem to find
Is best before I climb in to my bed.
If I could tell you why I love this brew,
T'would be a task beyond my meager skills;
Ambrosia is its name, that much is true,
And none can match the way that it fulfills.
As one more cup to my dry lips I bring-
Oh coffee great, of brews you are the king!
