Dream

I close my eyes and see your face,
this time without you has been a waste.
You hold my hand and lean in towards me,
I can barely breathe when you kiss me.
This must be perfection; I know it's happiness,
when I was without you, I was such a mess.
We get in your car and you drive far away,
I can't stop shaking and I don't know what to say.
We lay on our backs and stare at the stars,
this precious moment will never leave my heart.
We talk for hours, you hold me in your arms,
on this cold night, I'm finding warmth.
But now I'm breaking, because you must leave,
this is the hardest thing my mind can conceive.
