A silly poem for the 9's Contest |
9 friends joined together at number 9, 9th Street to celebrate the 9th birthday with 9 sweets each! 9 presents they brought, and 9 cakes too on 9 party plates, each with 9 candles of blue. Each of the 9 had 9 buttons on their 9 party hats and each carried a basket hiding 9 cats. Now each cat had 9 kittens and I know that I saw each one of the kittens had 9 toes on each paw! There were 9 star decorations and 9 favors too, 9 pens and 9 notebooks and 9 candies to chew. Then each of the 9, called 9 friends more who called 9 friends: there were party-ers galore! Soon each of the 9 rooms in this way crowded place had 9 x 9 people crammed into the space. They decided to move to 9 Party Square and continue the Gala 9th Birthday Party there. 9 neighbors called up to complain of the noise and 9 cops arrived; someone said, "C'mon boys. Join in our fun, we're all dressed to the 9's." "9" said they; giving us 9$ fines. The party lasted 'til 9 after 9: we all had a blast- for 9 full hours did the party last. 9 x 9 buses took us home full of cheer, be9 and happy-can't wait 'til next year! 24 lines with 9 lines in the first two stanzas.
