The fire burning inside! the difference between being alive, and just breathing.
Light my veins on fire; see the flames dance.
Strip my blood of all tranquilizers I applied to appease.
Not I, but everyone else.
Mummified I am still,
But I now want to fight it!
All my life I’ve censored my being,
Putting off reality for far too long.
I’ve applied too many medicated thoughts to my way of life.
Petty, for life is to feel pain,
To suffer.
To struggle and succeed,
Not to cope!
Not to pretend!
Life is no fairytale and to treat it so,
We aren’t being fair to ourselves.
Yes, Pain is misery,
Funny that misery should love me.
Funny how everyone that claims to love me becomes a problem.
I want to rip these stitches out,
I want to watch myself as I bleed.
Watch how the life I can’t seem to grasp runs right through me.
I want to feel fire,
Not be the fire.
I don’t want to destroy,
Yet I do.
It is but a sad attempt at affection,
Reminding one of their faults.
Is it so bad to want the best for a soul?
I want to give each person in this world all they need,
To become the best person they can be!
I feel as if it is my burden to be the cage breaker;
Still, I’d rather that than a caged bird.
Rage.
Rage, rage, rage!
There is so much wrong in this world,
Yet, it is all too simple it is to create something right!
I ask on lookers what they think,
They say they don’t understand!
How can you not understand that something is terribly wrong?
Have they let the glass they stand outside of become too thick?
Standing in quick sand,
The wind molds the glass while they sink.
As I’m stuck here in this mess,
I’m left alone to do what’s forbidden; think.
Yes, pain is misery;
Funny that misery should love me.
I shall now embrace it,
For it is my last chance at redemption.
