Best Buddies- Script

Sam: And that’s how it happened.
Ben: How what happened?
Sam: you’re joking right?
Ben: ha, no… what are you talking about?
Sam: I just spend ten whole minutes explaining about that nigh… you know what… fuck it and fuck you, I’m leaving.
Ben: ooh... can I come?
Sam: This kid for real or what?
-No, you can’t come… why would I possibly want you to come?
Ben: Because I’m your friend…
Sam: oh… alright.
Ben: you don’t think I’m your friend?
Sam: nah mate… were best buds…
Ben: thought so…
Sam: would my best bud mind getting me a coke?
Ben: haha nope… hang on be right back.

-Ben runs out the scene

Sam: this kid’s an idiot…
Dan: Who is?
Sam: Ben… he’s getting me a coke ‘cos he thinks we’re best buddies.
Dan: that kid has some issues; I wouldn’t use him too much.
Sam: yea you’re right… I’ll stop once he gives me the coke, haha…
Dan: haha, you just like to use people don’t you?
Sam: Yup…

-Ben returns to meet Sam, and to then greet Dan who was talking to Sam.

Ben: Hey Sam, I got you’re coke.
Sam: thanks man, you’re a great friend.

-Sam doesn’t open the drink, but holds it in his hands, with Ben eying his movements with the coke bottle.

Ben: So we goin’ to go somewhere?
Sam: don’t know, where you guys wonna go?
Dan: hmm… movies, too cold to go somewhere outside
Ben: Sounds good
Sam: I’m in.
Dan: I heard ‘Eight Productions’ brought out a new movie… we should see it
Sam: yea, I heard that movie was pretty good… what was it… ‘Wait what?’
Ben: what?
Sam: No that’s what it’s called, ‘Wait, What?’
Ben: oh, I thought you meant… ahh forget it…
Dan: forget it? Again seriously… every time you seem to say something funny or something interesting you just say ‘forget it’.
Ben: yea, I don’t want to make myself look like a fool.
Dan: A fool? I just want to know what you were talking about what you could do with a cork, a bottle opener and a mouse pad.
Ben: you won’t find that out.
Dan: but now I’m curious about what you coulda done.

Sam: you guys right?
Dan/Ben: oh, soz…
Sam so gonna go see the movie?
Ben/Dan: Yup

-Ben continues to eye the bottle of coke in Sam’s hand as they walk towards the bus stop.
-Sam then unscrews the cap and takes a mouthful.

Sam: Wow, that’s pretty good… where’d you get this from?
Ben: ahh, just the deli down the road…
Sam: Wow, I should start going there more often.
Ben: yea you should, not a bad place… oh, by the way you owe me three fifty.
Sam: What? Why?
Ben: for the coke.
Sam: I thought you gave it to me for free, best buds?
Ben: might be best buds, but I’m not your bitch… I aint buying you free stuff, so you can F*** off you selfish pig.

-Ben then leaves the scene leaving “Dan” and “Sam” stunned looking at each other, Sam then lifts the Coke up to look at it clearer and show that it’s the centre of attention.

Sam: well, at least it tastes nice.
