Winner. COUNTRYMOM-JUST REMEMBER ME 's Country Music Lovers Contest. Just an Outlaw He cut a harsh figure as he rode into town Dressed in his Sunday best, his Resistol pulled down. Astride a black stallion, six-gun at his side. Sitting straight in the saddle, back stiffened with pride. He’s looking for the man who shot his woman down And left her there to die dressed in her wedding gown. They should have been married, this would have been the day When they exchanged their vows. Now someone’s got to pay. Chorus Don’t let him see the fear Don’t look him in the eye Don’t you get in his way Lest it’s your turn to die. With fingers that are itchy, his back to the sun, The outlaw stands waiting, his hand over his gun. He watches the cowboy as he dismounts his steed And he narrows his eyes, ’cause he did the foul deed! They face one another in the hot noon day heat. The townsfolk are silent, as they watch from the street. Two guns clear their holsters. The outlaw hits the ground. He’s been filled full of lead and Boot Hill’s where he’s bound. Repeat chorus Remounting his stallion and holstering his gun The man turns his horse round and rides into the sun. Don’t know where he’s heading, don’t know what will befall, Now that he’s just an outlaw and death stains his soul. Chorus/fade |
