Job application from an alien wishing to work on Earth |
Ggroit AGgroit ThThriy Oolgore Avlette JaAstie HaAsred seigh Hhansom (3rd moon past Cirrius 3) Dear Sir/Madam I am an 18 year old Hhansom man (187 in Earth years). I am about to enter a stage in my life called Groingro, this entails becoming an adult Hhansom man and means that I must find gainful employment to secure my future. During my formative years I studied Earth and its working practices and as a consequence I feel that I would like to augment the theory with a little practical. Schooling From birth I was placed in the local lava flow nursery, where we fed on sulpher rich lava for 2 years. We learned to read and write during this time and we learned the importance of a good diet. All of our waste was graded and sold on as prime pumice, which is considered a great delicacy by our elders. For the next four years we were placed in learning chambers. These chambers had electrical contacts that constantly fed our learning centers with information. We have four learning centers, each one is the equivalent of your brain but each one specialises in certain areas, e.g.:- One of my learning centers was fed with facts about earth which is why I became interested in the subject. A learning center can be erased so that a new subject can be taught. From age 6 up until my 14th year I attended a state run formatory. Here I devoted myself to learning about my own people and how our race parallels the human evolution. I also studied Earth extensively. At age 14, all Hhandsom men are given a year in which they must travel. Our travels must be well documented so that we can make a detailed report when we return to our homeworld. My travels took in all nine of the planets in the Terran solar system, As Earth was the only one with life, I spent most of my time there. (People back home have said that I have an obsession with Earth.) 15 years to 18 years was basic training in our defence force. I progressed through the ranks from Cadet to Junior Adminel in just 3 years, I specialised in the construction of defensive domes for our forces on the front line. My ability to secrete resin was a prime factor in being chosen for this extremely important post. Mixed with sand the resin can create a sturdy shelter that will withstand quite a large explosive force. Qualifications I achieved a starpass in Hhansomanian a planetarypass in Numerical manipulation a starpass in Carbon Combinronics a starpass with 2 rings in Ecoergonomical sciences a supernovapass in Earthmanian a lunarpass in Linguistics a novapass in Constuction ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ggroit AGgroit ThThriy Oolgore Avlette JaAstie HaAsred seigh Hhansom (3rd moon past Cirrius 3) Personnel manager Tryst Aerospace Composites Linacre Industrial Estate Garysville Leicestershire Earth Dear Sir or Madam With reference to your advert for a trainee laminator, I am pleased to enclose a copy of my C.V. As you will see I am new to the world of employment and have no experience of any kind, however I feel that I have to mention a couple of points in my favour. 1) As I mentioned in my C.V. I am currently going through a stage in my life called Groingro (I believe this is called puberty on Earth). A side effect of this process is that I secrete copious quantities of Epoxy Resin. This resin matches exactly the resin your company uses in your carbon composites manufacturing process, and if you employ me I will save your company a considerable amount of money. 2) Through my research and several projects carried out in Formatory and my time in our defence force, I believe that I am fairly skilled in Laminating and will require little or no training. I am willing to travel or relocate in order to secure my future and as a Hhansom man I am very pleasing to the eye. I wish you harmony and peace as you go through your selection process and hope that you will give my application due consideration. Hopefully Yours Ggroit AGgroit 692 words |
