The experience of death, being transported to a different world.
WHERE AM I?

Am I awake or asleep?
Or, do a dream I see?
What is this that surrounds me?
Why I float in a sea?

No, it’s not a dream because
I can well turn around.
I do see rather strange things
And hear a silent sound.

But, wait, what about the bed
Where I slept for a week
In the hospital where I
Was taken from the creek?

I remember that I drowned
But was rescued quite late.
I was unconscious for long.
Uncertain was my fate.

Well, it seems that certainty
Has shown itself at last.
I am dead, yet I’m awake.
I’m leaving this world fast.
