A rare commodity

Is it cheesy to write a poem
When normal words would do?
Why do rhyming and pentameter
Conjure thoughts of you?

I think about you constantly,
You're always on my mind.
Moments that we steal away
Are treasures that we find.

The more I learn about you,
The more I want to know.
The more you say "slow down"
The faster I want to go.

Your heart is very tender,
Which is a rare commodity,
I'm waiting for the day you trust
It will be safe with me.
