A young girl begins an epic journey through the unknown on a path to fulfill her destiny. |
These are the tales of a young girl named Eve Whose many adventures you wouldn't believe Filled up with frights that would horrify kings Dark, deadly, dangerous terrible things But first let me start where the story begins Before I get foolish and tell you the end But where to begin as I tell you this rhyme Let me think, yes, of course, once upon a time The world was once peaceful, but that came and went It followed the paths laid by the hearts of men For the deadliest plagues to the earth are the seeds Of jealousy, anger, power, and greed So millenia passed as men fought in their wars And most times, they knew not what they were fighting for 'Til one day ten thousand men stood in a flood A river of their fallen comrades own blood They looked at themselves and then threw down their blades And that day Harmonia came to be made For one hundred years this kingdom lived in peace But, of course, for some reason, all good things must cease Legends told of a cave with a sleeping dragon High in Harmonia's eastern mountains A young knight named Simon, he led an attack And he promised to bring the dragon's treasure back His army marched two years to get to the place Before they found themselves and the beast face to face The dragon lay sleeping on top of its horde Simon and his army all pulled out their swords They began to charge it but as they approached They made too much noise and the dragon awoke The battle that followed took so many lives Only Simon and two of his men would survive The dragon laid dead on the floor of the cave And Simon could have been considered so brave But his head was filled with the wildest dreams His actions were all really part of a scheme Simon's father was a wandering bard Who told many tales that he read in the stars And Simon's favorite was the story that told Of the treasure that dragons held worth more than gold The legends said if you plant a dragon's teeth An invincible army will grow from the seeds Simon saw himself as Harmonia's king His army would make him the lord of all things So he killed the two men who had lived through the fight To be all alone and bring his plans to light He planted the teeth just like a field of corn And with the teeth, he planted the dragon's horn Simon sat back and he waited for rain And he marvelled at the powers of his own brain The clouds came and poured, the teeth began to grow Simon went to harvest the army he'd sown He'd planted all three hundred teeth of the beast They grew into soldiers that were incomplete Their bodies, they weren't fully covered with skin They were half fully human and half skeleton But for them Simon didn't shed any tears He thought 'This will make them even more feared' But even Simon felt some fear from the beast That had grown from the horn of the dragon deceased As Simon walked towards it, he stared up in awe At the monster before him that stood eight feet tall It towered above the rest of the soldiers A monster so large, it seemed almost absurd Simon approached pretending to be brave He said "I'm your master and you are my slave." The beast looked at Simon and began to laugh It picked Simon up and folded him in half Simon never had one small chance to react Before he felt all the bones snap in his back He didn't feel pain, though. He was too surprised. He thought to himself 'What happened?' then he died The creature threw the corpse aside in the mud Then its first words were "I'm getting thirsty for blood. Let all lands before us now bow at the feet Of Xandor the Blade and his fierce Dragonteeth." Xandor in Dragonspeak means the word king He began preparing to cause suffering The Blade and his soldiers went back to the cave Where the dragon had kept all of its treasure saved There were magical items and weapons galore There was armor and jewelry and diamonds and more The Dragonteeth put weapons into their hands And then they proceeded to march on the land No one could stop them as they moved along The Blade and his Dragonteeth were far too strong Harmonia's people were forced into graves The ones that survived it became Xandor's slaves With this fate, the people tried learning to cope 'Til one day something happened to give them hope The Blade always kept a prophet at his side To tell him the future before it arrived Some slaves saw the oracle fall to her feet She looked up at Xandor and told him to flee She said "Your destruction is told in the sky. Look up and see it with your own two eyes." Xandor looked up and the omen was seen He said "Tell me, oracle. What does it mean?" She told him "The daughter of dawn has been born. She's coming to rescue the weak and forlorned." A wave of excitement ran through all the slaves Who saw in the sky a bright star in the day Like flames across the land, the prophecy spread But the Blade only laughed all this off then he said "You're joking! A baby is what I should fear? Please tell me I shouldn't trust my own two ears Oracle, you must be some kind of fool What will happen? Will I die if touched by her drool?" He gathered his soldiers and gave his orders He said "Let us make a nice welcome for her. This child should already say her goodbyes I sentence all babies in this land to die The Dragonteeth went on their murderous quest They went all throughout the north, south, east and west They carried their mission out, beaming with joy They liked murdering the baby girls and boys The viciousness of the Blade's army was clear As they left Harmonia's parents in tears And in this madness was the peasant girl Jess Who had no idea she was part of this mess There was no one to tell her that her baby girl Was destined to someday save the whole world She only knew that her new baby's life Was about to be taken by a monster's knife She fled through the woods as the Dragontooth chased She knew any minute it would win this race And just when she thought she could no longer go She came out of the woods to where the river flowed The creature that chased her wasn't far behind She looked to the sky and she prayed for a sign She burst into tears and she cried out her thanks When she spotted a small boat on the riverbank Jess put her daughter inside of the boat After testing it, just to make sure it would float Jess told her "I love you, my dear little miss. Goodbye, Eve, my darling." and gave her a kiss She let the boat glide with the current downstream Then hoped that the beast behind her hadn't seen To throw it off, she ran the opposite way Praying her baby would turn out okay Thankfully, the monster came after her For a moment, she felt herself running faster But it didn't take too long for her to get caught But, of course, by then, to Jess, it mattered not For the baby, the Dragontooth looked all around But it couldn't find her so it just cut Jess down He had no idea where the baby could go But decided that the Blade didn't need to know The Dragontooth never thought to wonder why The day star still burned bright up in the sky But Xandor the Blade only knew all too well Of the story this shining star wanted to tell He had no idea how his plan could have failed While somewhere far away, a small baby sailed... |
