Driving to work in my groovy, new Jeep
the two lane road becoming my racetrack
transcending cars with Granny - grunt drivers.
See them only faintly as I look back -
leaving them in dust, nearing the next pack –
pedal to the metal, speeding onward.
Applying my mascara and lipstick -
left knee on steering wheel frees up my hands.
Sixty miles per hour in a forty-five -
radio blaring my favorite bands;
wind in my hair, tangling all the strands -
advancing aggressively forward.
