The Happy Girl

She is always smiling. At work. Smiling. On the streets, smiling. In her car, smiling.

Strangers smile back. They call her "Smiley".  She's a lovely girl with perfect teeth and two gorgeous dimples on each side of her cheeks that enhance that huge sunny smile of hers.

She whistles while she works. And often hums some tune replaying in her head during her busy work days. She makes people laugh with her goofy jokes and manner. She likes to make people laugh. 

All day long, Monday through Friday, it is the same: Happy chit-chattering attitude and smiling at most everyone she sees.

And at the end of the day she is exhausted and enters her small apartment. Takes off her clothes, crawls under the covers on her queen size bed, and quietly sobs herself to sleep.
