Time has come to make a stand
Will you lead or take my hand
Strength in numbers or so they say
Salvation’s a lonely road I walk today


Generations come and generations go
Place their mark, watch their children grow
Some die for freedom, others make grand plans
The blood of our soldiers runs through foreign sands


Lives are not given for money we’re told
As we fight bloody wars over diamonds and black gold
Policies are made that shatter dreams and destroy lives
Adding to the bodies already burning on funeral pyres


Guns and terror are the choice of weapon
How many more must die for humanity’s lesson?
Animosities spread hatred and terrible lies
While greed lights our passion for foolish desires


The records burn brightly from our many bad deeds
Is it any wonder we can’t get along and see?
Cruelty and senseless acts know no bounds
We rip and we burn, there’s no sanity to be found


The scars on our souls will live for eternity
This is the price for profiting in modernity
Blood stains and tomb stones a signal of doom
As the path we follow shrouds us in gloom


The saints and the sinners are fighting endless wars
The death toll from both sides is hard to keep score
It’s right to unite and make a pact together
Put aside our differences and forge peace forever


The time has to come to make a stand
