a poem about taking courage, about our internal enemy |
FEAR BY: MARICON ANGADOL ATUBANG Deep within us, He lurks, down there, Waiting to strike, When we lower down our shield In every dreams, He came as nightmare, In every goals, He came as failures. Whenever you stand, He tried to pull you down, Just as you reach the top He opens hell and makes you stop, In every steps forward, He pushes you back, And when you start to fight, He makes you tremble in the dark. He makes the day, Somber as the night He makes laughter, Sorrowful cries, Unless we fight him with might, He will always hold us back, Stagnant! Out of sight, Afraid, scared full of fright. For when we let him win, Over our will to be bold, Then we’ll always stay a quitter, Can’t reach success, I wander, Fear, he is, Present in each of us, A strong force, That made us crippled, Hesitant to advance, And face life’s, Upbeat and down beat tasks. |
