courage

words cannot explain,
what i'm feeling inside,
it's all just total bullshit,
today i cried and cried.

You break my heart each day,
with something of new invention,
then you sit there innocently,
fooling me that there was no intention.

I can now see right through you,
through those cold eyes of yours,
that you do indeed still want me,
but I let it run its course.

One day you'll be old and grey,
alone and wondering why,
while I'll be out there all content,
with not a tear drop in my eye.

I want to see the big, wide world,
and with you I cannot see,
but in my hand I tightly hold,
the one and only key.

I now must find the courage,
and hold my head up high,
feel the world at my fingertips,
and never again be hard done by.
