A Moment in the Hospital

It had been some fifty years since the day they said “I do.” Husband and wife forever in love.

Husband now lay in the hospital after a heart attack. Wife wished to be by his side always. Fifty odd years they had spent together. Through the cliffs, valleys, and rivers of life, they stayed by one another’s side.

But then the doctors told her that she could not see her husband in the hospital.

“Why,” she asked.

“Because his heart beats faster when you walk into the room.”
