A man with no doors has no windows. |
Being killed and buried several feet into the ground, as it turns out, was not too much of a problem for me. It was kind of annoying, however, to have to climb several feet laterally through rather thick soil, and would have been nearly impossible if I hadn't had my Admiral's Pneumatic Drill with me. The noise it made and recoil it made was pretty annoying, but it allowed me to make progress in my journey across the island. Eventually, I reached a certain point, and redirected the drill to face upward. I soon, after getting a great deal of topsoil all over my everything, emerged out of the surface. A hand helped me out of the ground, and it turned out it rather predictably belonged to the Unexpected Tree. I saw it sitting (or what passed for sitting) on a rock several feet away; its hand was not presently attached to it. After I had gotten myself as out of the ground as I was going to get, I approached him and handed him his hand. "That was a decent pun." it said. "I thought so as well." I replied. "Not too badly damaged, I hope." "Reasonably not so." "Well, good." He then took out a small handkerchief, monogrammed with a large xylophone. I wasn't too pleased about this development. "Well, that's a rather poor shape, don't you think." The Unexpected Tree's only reply was "Whee!" and he placed it over both of our heads. The xylophone went in the middle, and he played a little jingle on it. Then, we were off! |
