Life is good - if boring - for a boy named Simon. That soon changes however, when his town is invaded by a large military force. Where this force originates from is not immediately known, but just about everyone is brutally annihilated except Simon, who is forced to hide beneath some huge barrels of wine by his mother. When he emerges, he finds the town full of marauding and pillaging soldiers. After talking to the town priest, Simon sets forth into the big, wide world to seek his fortune.
There is an evil loose and prophecy and hope has been dashed with the death of its hero. Can Simon and his friends stem the rise of Mool, the blue demon?
