What if Cinderella's happily-ever-after wasn't so happy after all?
Cinderella waltzes alone
Under the stars tonight
It seems Prince Charming let her down
Feeling the dirt beneath her feet
She begins to weep
Dancing in the rags of her gown

He promised her the world,
And what a joke it has been
His rag-doll princess can't stand what she's seen
And she remembers his promises
Of happily-ever-after
But the bitter truth is all she can see

And her dreams are crumpled
Under the feet of  his dominating ideals
In shreds with who she could  have been
Shattered into a million shards
Are the beliefs she held so dear
Before she became his battered down queen
