Women Of Islam and Justice

From million minarets, the cry of the muezzin call the faithful to prayer. Men fill the mosques to worship a male god and honour a male prophet. Megaphones bark the instructions of Islam. Islam translates as submission to God’s will. All women are compelled to submit to men’s will. Millions of women imprisoned in the cruel cages created from Islamic thinking.

         Starting with Sharia law, which is based on Sura 2:282 which declare that a woman’s value is half of a man’s “Call in two male witnesses from among you, but if two men cannot be found, then one man and two women whom you judge fit to act as witnesses.” Why is this a problem? First, because it devalues woman. Second, it creates an injustice in cases such as rape, domestic violence and a lot more which I will write of later.
         Islam devalues woman? Indeed, it does since there are a lot more verses which support or are connected to woman’s value. Verse 4:11 “To the male the equivalent of the portion of two females”, a male is to inherit twice as much as a woman. As it devalues a woman into half a man, coming to the second problem, we can conclude that one man as witness equals two women. Having this “smaller” unbalance, in Pakistan since 1947 there have been only 2 successful trial of rape in favor of a woman. In addition the number of witnesses needed are 4, which even make an accusation  difficult.
         Since we are discussing domestic violence I want to mention verse 4:34 “Men are the maintainers of women because Allah has made some of them to excel others and because they spend out of their property; the good women are therefore obedient, guarding the unseen as Allah has guarded; and (as to) those on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in the sleeping-places and beat them; then if they obey you, do not seek a way against them; surely Allah is High, Great.” Which promotes beating wives, although it is mentioned as a last option, we know that most of men psychologically are obeying their instincts more than rationality and fall into anger easily. With addition of strict Quran teaching, the man will use the last option very fast, since it is the most reliable one and fastest. It’s reliable, because most women, who are raised in strongly islamic influenced family, are very quiet, because they have been taught to be obedient and to not to ashame her family, as they believe divorce is shame to wife’s family. All these factors just lead to domestic abuse which is often hidden from our eyes and it is even worse “A man will not be asked as to why he beat his wife”, because of this line we have no right to know not ask about the abusement and its reason. But with honesty I must say, this happens everywhere on this planet.
          Being wife is very difficult and cruel if you have “bad” luck. Overall it is bad to be wife, since you surely lose your life and identity and become a property “The Muslims said among themselves, ‘Will Safiyah be one of the Prophet’s wives or just a lady captive and one of his possessions?’” (Sahih Bukhari 1:9:490). They must be absolutely obedient because of verse 4:34. In Hadith 61 “When a man calls his wife to satisfy his desire, let her come to him though she is occupied at the oven.”, has to satisfy husband or else “Whosoever female dies while her husband is pleased with her, will enter Paradise.” she will not be able to enter paradise.          
          All these injustice verses point to one 4:34 “Men are in charge of women, because Allah made men to be better than women. Women must obey men, and if they refuse they must be punished. Refuse to have sex with them and beat them into submission (Islam).”.
         Because of these unbalance woman are treated as thing more than a human. To be more precise they are compared to animals “You have compared us (women) to donkeys and dogs.” (Sahih Bukhari 1:9:490). Therefore not only they are less than man, they can also be mortgaged.
         These are things that they have on mortal world, so what about spiritual one?
There are very few verses about women’s paradise, since only a small minority of heaven’s population are women, but still. Men are promised with 72 virgin girls and even with 28 virgin boys, since homosexuality was practiced during those times. However women’s rewards are not mentioned.

Concluding all the points I have written, being a woman living in Islamic law-based country is hell and even afterlife is hell. The Quran, which was written by Mohhamed, is a sexist book, even of there are verse justifying the 4:34 and other ones, they are still going to thrown away, since they are not strong enough, because there are too many contradicting them. A lot of apologists have tried, but they all failed, because their interpretations never agrees with the ones written in Arabic Quran. Justice for women in Quran overall, there is none.
