A poem about a girl that I feel God sent to me.
She, this wonderful girl of mine, has beautiful blond hair,
and a pretty face, one to put Helen of Troy to shame,
and a smile that would look good with anyone, anywhere.

How I would love to list all of the things I love about you,
but what kind of love letter says only things you can see?
I need you to know, that I think we are meant to be.

It's not because I'm desperately in love with you,
because, trust me, I am very much in love with you,
but because I needed an answer, and then you were here.

There was no, "I am going to love you at first sight,
because I feel we are just meant to be together,"
it was all gentle, it was all honest, it was just right.

I wanted it, I really did, but I had to wait
I wanted to pray, and ask God to set it straight,
because it was a problem, and you were the answer.

It was like I was stuck on a real hard math problem,
and none of the symbols I knew, could help solve it.
You, Alli Ann, were the only variable that fit.

I was stuck more though, in the thickest mud I've ever seen.
I felt stupid and cruel for the way I was acting,
but you were my escape, you were my reason to sing.

Then God put us together, like puzzle pieces, we fit,
and no matter which direction you turned us, we worked.
We were set up to be perfect, as luck would have it.

You wrote me a song, that I didn't know much about,
while I was writing a song, a love song, no doubt,
and you sang it, and I found it, that perfection.

I was trying to say it, trying to tell you,
bursting at the seams, falling apart, to pieces,
but you saved me, whispering across the phone "I love you."
