Snaps and snickers as it struggles to light,
Why is this candle putting up a fight?
It finally lights, smoldering something new,
Over my head, as soon as the flame flew.
Passionate persistent penetrating flame,
Which burns my ignorance into pain.
Our hearts are heated in the fire,
Amplified, concentrated, extreme, desire.
Love, but a flame burning in itself,
Lives in elation on the second shelf.
And as the wax slithers down its base,
Truth to lies, meet face to face.
The blaze is unknowing of the wick it burns.
Keeping it lit, the only concerns.
But the once strong flame begins to flicker,
The coated wax, from thinner to thicker.
Fading, fighting, frantic fire,
Hated cheated despaired liar.
Fading ambiguity, cold inferno,
The light is just a diming glow.
Dying flame, as the wax falls to parts,
Two stupid people, two stupid hearts.
A miniscule light now surpassed by the eye,
Is blown out into the sky.
Disappearing eternally from ceiling to floor,
That is until the candle is lit once more.
