Wrote this before the Marine Corps sent me across the sea to Japan |
THE WIND ACROSS THE SEA Though I travel to a far off land You still can take hold of my hand With the vision that the Mind's eye sees To be shown the wonders across the sea. If in your heart there's a place for me Then we shall apart, never be Remember things we have done and do And I'll always be a part of you. Past, present, and how it's going to be We're on our minds like a photo's memory. Recall the words of the lyric poets' rhyme A tape, first-aid for the Soul, in-time That I made and left behind for you Fused-intonated-rhetoric, set to music too! Floating like the lost papers of a school girl Lost, blowing in the Wind, uproar and swirl With the Sun's irradiation shining kind On the paper, words and symbols of the mind The letters, the working tools of our thought Gathered from the Wind, only as they're caught! This he told the woman whom he called his wife Is the Conceptual Continuity of your life That leads along that Long and Winding Road To the Doors of Perception in that abode Beyond The Wall, of Illusion And the precepts of confusion. Open your eyes now, what do you see? Standing at the center of Eternity! From here you may choose any path with heart For the rest of your life, and then you start, The Sea of Multitude's paths to cross Whom flow and ebb from your life with the current's toss Leaving only the memories of their footprints In the sands of Time, naught a dent And like the Wind across the Sea It's message is: to Let It Be! For when Our paths cross once again, We will walk them together, till its end. |
