Eyes light and heavy-lashed,
call to my heart of regrets.
Love that won't rest in the past,
rising to a place none forgets.

Quick the mind's eye,
to gather pieces of you,
and tenderly resurrect.
Years have flown by,
but my heart speaks true,
paying you quiet respect.

You are there now,
where true love waits,
with laurels that n'er crumble.
To us the hands of time will bow,
and fate will become humble.

Our love that was torn,
by deeds and men,
wears no less shining gild.
Yet rises like sun,
on a cloudless morn,
where it waits to be fulfilled.

author's notes:
Reentering into a relationship with the spouse of your youth, after long separation
is a joyous thing. All the mistakes and all the heartaches are erased. All that matters is that
forgiveness and love allowed grace to come in. It is a precious thing to be chosen again by
the same person, even after they know all your "junk" and choose you again anyway.

1 Corinthians 7:15-
But if the unbelieving partner separates, let it be so. In such cases the brother or sister is not
enslaved. God has called you to peace.

Hebrews 13:4-
Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled,
for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.
