The Summer

Ah, but the best of seasons has arrived
I cannot believe what we have survived
The cold of Winter, the rain of Spring
The Summer makes me want to sing

Oh Joy! Oh Joy! The temperature is rising
No more is it cold; its very surprising
The sun feels good, it warms me all over
It tans my body, soothes like a lover

Enjoy the Summer, for it is short
Even though it sometimes gets rather hot
We know that soon the weather will change
And we will be back in that awful cold range
