Eight Limericks

I sat down to write of my day
But the sun got in my way
So I went out instead
And fell on my head
And now I have nothing to say.

It’s late and I’m writing an email
My whole day put in a tale
But I’m too tired to strut
And my eyes are shut
So here it is written in Braille.

I wanted to write to you
So I looked for some fat to chew
But it was a boring day
And I had nothing to say
Except for this limerick boohoo.

I got up to give life a tap
After taking a really long nap
First I traveled by car
Then played my guitar
Now here you are reading this c#!p.

Here I am typing a note
Instead of out sailing my boat
It’s too windy and cold
To be brave and bold
So I write this in my winter coat.

It’s time to write you a letter
But I should have hired a setter
Because my brain is numb
And my thoughts are dumb
And my jokes just get wetter and wetter.

Let me share with you a missive
But nothing that’s too derisive
Just a line or two,
Since there’s nothing new,
And the two of us can both be dismissive.

Would you like to hear what I’ve done?
Where I’ve gone and how I’ve had fun?
I sat in my chair
Gave some thought to my mare
Til the moon rose and swapped with the sun.
