My interpretation of why some young girls leave home early and never come back...
Why (A Little Girl’s Story)

Why doesn’t anybody at home love me like I wish they use to

Why doesn’t mommy hold my hand or take the time to teach me to tie my shoe

Daddy’s always tired and he always says give me a minute I need time

Mommy says don’t bother your father he’s tired and has a lot on his mind

My brother ignores me now and my sister went away last year

They said she would be back but she graduated and was out of here

I want to go to the park and play I hear kids all the time talk about all the fun they have

But I can hardly leave the house because everyone thinks things outside are so bad

Mom shows me no love at all, she doesn’t even hug or kiss me anymore

Nowadays she doesn’t even have time to say goodbye when she walks out the door

I want what my friends have, their daddies kiss them on their way out the car going to class

Mine doesn’t even know my teacher’s names and is always working so when I see him its fast

The time we spend together doesn’t last very long and no one seems to be interested in me or my day

I sit at the table and do homework now, I don’t even ask to go out and play

All I need is some attention someone just to give me a little time and tell me they love me

No one even tells me I’m pretty anymore so I hold my head down because I think I’m ugly

I don’t know what to do anymore so I guess I’ll find my own way

I am thirteen and leaving home because i'm not wanted and I don’t want to be here another day
