* STILL TO BE FINISHED. IF YOU WANT TO READ IT, FEEL FREE TO DO SO. JUST TO STOP YOU WONDERING WHY THIS IS INCOMPLETE*

(Nick and Kylie look around to find the inn they were to stay in. The rain was pouring as if the droplets were pears falling out of the sky. Their clothes soaked and feet cold, the duo were eager to find the inn for warmth and rest.)

Nick: I can't see a building in the vicinity. (Looks around him)
Kylie: (Teeth chattering) I'm cold, let's keep on going. It's nearby, I'm sure.
Nick: How sure?
Kylie: Oh quit kidding! Hurry up and find this inn. I hope its not one of those dingy places were dowdy man come to get themselves drunk.
Nick: Of course not.
Kylie: Look is that a building? (Points finger at a small building hidden away by a tree)
Nick: (snappily)Yes it's a building! You should have asked if it was the inn, since you know very well it's a building!!!
Kylie: Sometimes I wonder how I can stand you.

(The fifteen year old hikers, rush through the rain towards the building which turned out to be the inn they were looking for. They hurriedly enter in. They find no receptionist and behiind the table there was a painting of the sea, as large as the height of an average man and some five feet wide, with a weird bust of an old man covering up most of the picture.)

Kylie: (whispers to Nick) Where is the receptionist?
Nick: Well he ought to be behind this table. There's a bell, I'll ring it. (Picks up bell and rang it wildly)
Old Man: (Crossly)Didn't you see me??? I'm here, why ring the bell if I'm right infront of you?
Nick: (Shocked) I thought you were a painting, Mister..um...
Old Man: (Raises arms and waves them furiously) What insolence, calling me a painting!!!
Kylie: (Dumbfounded) ....umm
Nick: (Hurriedly) We're sorry sir, but...do not take any offence, you look as faded as the painting.
(Kylie nudges Nick to stop talking)
Old Man: So! I'm as faded as an old painting! Hah! Nice compliment. Am I made of canvas too?
Kylie: Sir, we are here to rent a room for a week here.
Old Man: (Becomes polite and business like) All right, the empty rooms are Room 6, Room 13, Room 17 and Room 25. I strongly recommend Room 25.
Nick: Is it a room with two single beds and a fully equipped bathroom?
Old Man: No, one single bed and no bathroom.
(Kylie rolls eyes and looks away)
Nick: Excuse me, but how can we sleep in one small bed? Is there a room with two single beds (pauses) and a bathroom?
Old Man: Room 13. Please don't take that!
Nick: Oh that stupid superstition. I'll take it!!! How much would that cost?
Old Man: (Unenthusiastically) If you take the room without the adjoining bath...-
Nick: I myself begged for a bathroom and I said I'm renting it for a week! Of course I'd need the bath.
Old Man: You won't last a day in there.
Kylie: (Impatient) Now come on, how much does it cost?
Old Man: Twenty Pounds.
Kylie: Cheap.
Nick: It's a good bargain. (Pays the old man).
Old Man: I wish you a good and undisturbed stay.

(The duo were shown to their room and the old man hurried away. Nick entered the key in the keyhole and the door opened with a creak)

Kylie: (switches light on) Cosy room.
Nick: Thirteen is a normal number. Why can't some people enter that in their thick heads? (Puts bags on his bed)
Kylie: Oh and Nick, how many times do I have to tell you not to be rude to other people? I think your head is thick.
Nick: (annoyed) Jeez..
____________________________________________________________________________

(It was exactly one minute to one o clock in the morning. At that wee hour in the morning, the duo were soundly asleep, as one might expect after such a hassle to arrive to their destination. Suddenly the old grandfather clock on the wall struck thirteen o' clock...)

Nick: (rubbing his eyes) Wha?
Kylie: What was that noise?
Nick: I dunno
Kylie: Speak properly! What is the time anyway?

(Nick glanced at his watch. He stared mystified)

Kylie: (Impatiently) So?
Nick: Kylie, it's thirteen o' clock!
Kylie: Don't be stupid!
Nick: You don't believe me? Look at that ancient grand father clock.

(Kylie stared at the grandfather clock, finding herself unable to believe her eyes)
