Have You Ever...

Have you ever…
howled at the full moon until your neighbours complained,
danced in the freezing rain as lightning cavorted above you,
or eaten ice cream at four in the morning on the way home from the pub.

Have you ever…
laughed so hard that juice came spurting out your nose,
stayed up all night playing violently homicidal computer games,
or had random conversations about purple toasters talking to neon pink fridges.

Have you ever…
loved someone who was totally wrong for you,
gotten drunk just to numb the emotional pain of life,
or spent every last cent on a useless and unnecessary consumer product.

Have you ever…
had a loved one bring you breakfast in bed,
found joy in something most would find insignificant,
or felt immense pleasure after a bite of your favourite dessert.

Life can be thrilling, passionate and wild
or it can be dull, numb and boring.
I choose to be wild.
