Antiques that my parents have brought back from NB. Also so many wonderful gift ideas!!! |
Stone Country Hobby and Home Decor is a family business. Mike and Annette Mosher are the owners of this new and interesting little gem of a store, which are also my parents. The building is with HalfRocks, but we don’t sell rocks that’s Dad's area. But we do have a lovely fire place that he has done and a short wall on the right when you walk into the store. This store has just the right touch of country and western theme that people are usually looking for in town. We also carry antiques that have been brought back from New Brunswick. Our idea is to have furniture to display our stock and give people an idea of what they could do with the items in their own homes. Doing crafts during the fall and winter season is something we all love to do. So for this need we carry many different types of scrap booking tools and items for the creative mind. We also have sawing supplies for the people who still enjoy sawing once in awhile. Our community is very country western, so this is why we dedicate most of our home decor to this style. Parks Design is our line of aprons, place mates, table runners and dish cloths in a gift set. There is also valances to match all of the above. Through out the store you will find word art done on boards of different sizes. There aremany different types of funny western sayings and also sweet phrases to be placed in any area of your home. To keep you snugly warm while the cooler season is here, we have many quilts. There are different colors and sizes for country and western styles. We also have in our children section blankets and quilts for infants. They can be just as snuggled up as you are while the snow falls. Also for our little people in our lives we carry Melissa&Doug toys. These toys are wooden and colorful. We carry toys from ages 6months and up. Many of us love to walk into a room and inhale a delicious smell. This is why we carrie a wide range of scents from Goose Creek candles. There is a smell for every season of the year on those shelves. Lots of our ladies in the area like to have something shinny yet different hanging from their ears and neck. So we have a lite up case of Montana Silver. There are types for the western girl with horse shoes and also small crosses for a gift for a Sunday brunch. It took sometime to get organized. But once things were ready we opened our doors in May. Our hours are ten to six from Monday to Friday and ten to four on Saturdays. Living in Mayerthorpe a lot of us know that things don’t really change. And we know what people like and don’t like. Also the idea of having to travel to the city is worry some for most of us. Its nice to have a local place to and shop for gift ideas. So this was our main reason to open Stone Country Hobby and Home Decor. To have somewhere to shop and not have to leave town. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- June 18th 2013.
