It is a painful and bitter process as a relationship crumbles and cries.

  Don't come back here again,
  not by chance or choice.
Don't try to call me again,
I don't want to hear your voice.

We're not traveling side by side,
  on any path or roads.
Our directions are, East and West,
  our lives in separate modes.

You have your ideas about me,
which reveal how little you know.
Funny how wrong you really were,
once the truth began to show.

  Honesty took a beating,
  bandaged with  more lies.
  The truth was always hiding,
  beneath your weak disquise.

  Now you tell your version,
  as only you can do.
  Rewriting our history,
  all according to you.

  The truth is waiting somewhere,
  between the tears and pain.
  It whimpers at your touch,
  your anger, and the blame.

  I'm tired of the struggle.
I won't live inside your lies.
  There's no sense even trying,
when trust lays down and dies.
