The words in my heart, get stuck in my throat.
When I try to speak my voice is drowned
Thrown into the water by you,
And all those more important than me.
Flailing arms and frantic eyes
Showcase my fears, surrounded by lies.

I try to call out for you
But the words are lost,
Floating like the bubbling foam on the waves
That are pushing me away, pushing me under.
I finally find enough strength to scream your name,
And you meet my eyes, but look down, ashamed.

The crying stops, the calling ends.
My tears mix with the violent water,
And the color drains from my face.
But I am not dead yet,
For that would far easier
Than heartbreak.
