A poem i wrote for my favourite teacher who passed away at the beginning of the year. |
For Tr.Hyacinth The sun’s finally set, the battles over I look upward at the person I lost to the sky bower Going through chemo with a smile on her face Just as she lived, she passed with dignity and grace Lord, make sure you meet her at the pearly gates For at this moment, that is where she waits Make sure you show her where to go Because the maps she taught on earth will help no more She could draw a circle, she knew north, south, east, west Take good care of her; she was one of our best A teacher, a mother, an angel on earth Give her a chance to prove her worth Give her love and make her laugh For what we gave her on earth was never enough She was one in a million, a guiding light No one could know better, wrong from right I can visualize her in a pink polka dot salwar Going back home in her tiny black car One action of hers that I can remember Is pushing glasses up her nose with her middle finger So keep her happy, don’t let her feel pain Let her look down upon us through the sun and the rain She’s with us not in body but in spirit With all the enthusiasm and the love that came with it |
