The Day I Lost My Pencil

                                                                                  It happened at noon

                                                                                    I lost my pencil

                                                                              The pencil I use to draw

                                                                                    My favorite pencil

                                                                                    My purple pencil

                                                                      It's the cutest pencil you ever saw

                                                                                I looked in the drawer

                                                                                    And on the table

                                                                          It was no where to be found

                                                                                I checked the counter

                                                                                    And the couch

                                                                        The stupid thing wasn't around

                                                                                  I gave up looking

                                                                                      It was no use

                                                                              It was absolutely gone

                                                                                  I sat and mourned

                                                                              The loss of my pencil

                                                                      For we had the strongest of bonds

                                                                                  But then I looked

                                                                                    Down for a bit

                                                                          This wasn't what I planned

                                                                                      There it was

                                                                                Right there and then

                                                                        My favorite pencil in my hand.
