Freedom's Jewel

Freedom comes with a price and it is our soldiers, our very best, that pay the price.

Freedom's Jewel

We send our men and women,
The best of who we are,
To battle evil overseas,
And defend us from afar.

We ask of them to give their all,
As we send them off to war,
Sleeping safely in our beds,
As they give their lives and more.

Unselfishly they go,
Where tyranny is the rule,
Spreading the flame of liberty,
And planting freedom's jewel.

They give their sweat, they give their blood,
They give their very lives,
To the cause of freedom,
For which they bravely strive.

Valiant are our soldiers,
Who we honor once a year,
As though that is enough,
For preserving what is dear.

These are our husbands and our wives,
Our daughters and our sons.
They are our veteran soldiers,
Brave heroes who have won,

Independence for us all,
Our very way of life,
Liberty and Freedom,
Bought with their sacrifice.

So honor them this Veterans Day,
Remember what they've won,
Just don't forget who they are,
Once the day is done.
