Darkness in Light
Often Common
But never seen
Somewhere beneath the shadows
Or maybe in-between
There's a face
That creeps so swiftly
Moving quickly as we breathe
Silence that can't be broken
No matter what it seems
A life shattered
A heart so battered
A person cries
A world dies
Fear shows up in every corner
Hides the hope once had
Tears away the peace once known
To a life that won't yet be sewn
A world broken
A word not spoken
A planet's lost
A destructive cost
Blindness shines as bright as day
Hate won't help it go away
Collapse me down to your own size
Tomorrow's sun just may not rise
Release these things right off your mind
Corruptive forces run all the time
Let yourself down back to Earth
Live your life to what it's worth
Darkness in Light
Often Common
But never seen
Somewhere beneath the shadows
Or maybe in-between
Take my hand, I ask of you
I'll stand by since I need too
Breaking free of my rusted cage
Letting go of my bitter rage
Moving forward to a better light
I'll do what's best to make things right.
