Lt. Hamilton, L
Had we lost?
Nobody knows where they came from. Or why they hate us. But they’ve scattered the remainder of the human race to the Scandinavian islands. We don’t have much hope. We only know what they are. They… they are giant Kleenexes.
In truth, we did have a chance, a long time ago, back in the 2030’s. We outnumbered them. Out gunned them, and we out smarted them, or so we thought. But we foolishly tried to make peace with them, but that left us wide open to attack.
Of course, we had defenses. They were just… inadequate, compared to them. They hovered over us, blocking out all light for miles, until they menacingly, slowly, hovered down and, either wrapped us in an asphyxiating dome of impenetrable cloth, or they expanded slightly and shot out these, energy beams that vaporized on contact.
And so it began. The war, I mean. The government they did everything in their “immense” power to stop them. Bullets, bombs, fire, no not one of those would even tear a seam on one of those things. Hell, even nuclear radiation didn’t work. They continued to globally dominate us, until the last dozen or so thousand humans known banded together and regrouped on the Scandinavian Islands. It wasn’t roomy, let alone sanitary. But it worked.
We set up our new home base in the scandals. It was underground, the kind of base that was used as a nuclear bunker under the old white house. We built an identical one for the civies, slightly smaller. The sad thing was that it was the best defensive structure we had, yet, in the other places it was used, like D.C, the design was easily overcome by the invaders. But, at least, that way, we wouldn’t be easily seen from the sky.
But… somehow their advanced technology granted them the ability to locate us, in the Scandals. There were more than I could count, coming in from the North, West and East. Me and my squad happened to be on patrol duty, along with three other hovercopters, when the invasion happened. While the other three hovercopters stood their ground and fought, and were ultimately destroyed, we fled back to base, because we had to warn them. But by the time we were back in the skies of Scandinavian Islands, the allies were all but destroyed. Fires burned uncontrollably, people were screaming, and the Kleenexes were wreaking havoc. So we had no choice. We turned around. We abandoned them. We abandoned what we think to be the remainder of the human race. The last we saw of the damn Kleenexes were them obliterating the Scandals.
But, now, we’re heading to the one place we haven’t been: Australia. The doc says there’s a twelve percent chance we’ll find any human rebellion, but it’s worth it. We’ll arrive at around 1900 hours. Until then, this’ll be my last log.
End log.
