Never Was
Nine thousand, million voices fade
and then they were, no more.
No trees were left to offer shade,
no throngs were left to roar.
From highest peaks of mountain tops
to molten seas of Hell;
all that lives and breathes then stops,
so tolls, the final bell.
Now all that was of human kind,
no longer shall there be;
for in the universe they'll find,
no trace of what was thee.
So here the sun will set, indeed!
when no one's left to pause;
for we were but a simple seed
in the land of ... " Never Was."
