A poem about two of my close friends falling in love.
Alone, she danced through meadows,
With her flying shimmer hair,
She smiled and shone with sunshine,
She felt lighter than the air,
She would leap across her boundaries,
Without worry, without care,
Her heart, made of pure silver,
She had Jesus thriving there.

One day her gaze was caught,
By an old familiar face,
He sent glimmers through her sunshine,
And he sent her dreams to space,
Her grin popped when he was near her,
He passed time, a quicker pace,
When their eyes met, Jesus chuckled,
And her heart began to race.

But somewhere in the distance,
She saw clouds begin to form,
In one second, in an instance,
Still refusing to conform,
She sacrificed her laughter,
For his smile sparked hers as well,
With Jesus looking after her,
She learned to wait for time to tell.

As he watched her from a distance,
As she wondered from afar,
As they masked themselves with secrets,
Smooth as steel and thick as tar,
As she worried of the outcome,
Into patterns did he fall,
Their hearts would not surrender,
Friendship overruled love’s call.

But her meadows still are blooming,
And her fingertips are light,
On the petals of her prayer,
As she twirls through full mooned night,
It’s colder now, she shivers,
And it’s harder now to see,
But her Jesus still glows through her heart,
And keeps her meadows free.

(originally this was the end. Until something amazing happened and I updated the poem.)

But then one day he dived into chance,
His heart bounced in his throat,
One night he let walls fall away,
Shot right across the moat,
He stormed though all defences and,
He let his love break through,
Glittering with her dream come true,
She said, “I love you too.”
