A Rat

For once there was a rat.
A big rat.
Giant, even.

It lived amongst the men.
The men didn’t like the rat.
There was hate, even.

A rat once bit a leg.
The hairy leg of a man.
The leg of a big man, even.

The man felt anger towards the rat.
He stomped down with hate.
With fear, even.

Now the rat is dead.
No longer a threat.
Almost unfair, even.
