When I opened up my eyes it was black as black could be
I looked upon the ground, but there was nothing I could see,
I tried to find the shutters, but alas there were no blinds
And then i realized something else, I thought I’d lost my mind
There was no bed beneath me, no handle on the door
I was trapped and locked and terrified,
Like I’d never been before.
I tried to scream for help, but terror caught my throat,
I was inside my nightmare, in a storm upon a boat
I wanted to be far away, where no one could ever see,
How weak how scared how pitiful, they would think I’d been
When i raised my face to see, I starred into my captor
It was not them or him or she, but me whom i looked back at.
