If Only

If only he could be the one to stop my tears,
The one who holds me,
The one who soothes my fears.

If only he could stop making me cry,
Giving me what I need,
At least be willing to try!

If only he could make me laugh all day,
Surrounding me with pure bliss,
While tangled in his arms I lay.

If only he could love me as I desire,
And if ever I am down,
He would take me higher.

If only he would,
since he very well can.

But his Love's lost and in ruins,
While he's busy being a man.

So I leave him forever.
Without considering if I should.

But I can't help but wonder,

Did he even know that he could?
