voices

shady town of broken hearts

filled with shallow regret

pray upon a single tear

that they don't ever forget



filled with sorrow for each other

every soul is afraid

lost in a forever spin

but their bodies all remained



in this town a single voice

small in a child's throat

nobody would hear him when he cried

so in this silence he screamed



at every corner of this hollow town

an echo was heard above the sin

it reflected a scared child

afraid that this game he couldn't win



though he played the part

he lost his soul

and in this world

he still felt cold



every voice in his head

told him what to do

every lost soul that he found

was lost in the game too



filling the silence

as the sanity fades to black

voices are all he hears

crawling up his back



now that he is here

now that he is gone

his voice and scream are silenced

but his soul is is still strong



haunting every corner

of the echoed scream

this time they hear it

but ignore it all the same
