Easter bunnies and colored eggs abound,
hidden away all over our home and ground.
Our children are running to find yet another,
and trying to outdo their sister and brother.
Twas the Easter Bunny that did the trick,
for he has found the brightest eggs to pick.
Easy to find if you look in the right places,
I have seen the smiles light up their faces.
Those were the good days of yesteryear,
my children are grown, gone from here.
They now have families of their very own,
my brief time with them was just a loan.
God gave us time for the joys we shared,
they may never know how much I cared.
These days I will spend some church time,
and once I am home, for the past I'll pine.
The Easter Bunny soon will be stopping by,
for my love of chocolate will never die!
I'll color some eggs for the kids next door,
give thanks to God as they come for more.
