PREFACE
On Thursday afternoon Abbi sat in her 3rd period history class her sister was in her freshman P.E. class, when the announcement came on informing us we were now in lockdown. The whole class sighed and climbed under their tables, Abbi shared a table with her best friend Melissa when they climbed under their desk Abbi thought only about her younger sister. She should’ve been thinking about her boyfriend, Dakota, but he was acting weird and they weren’t talking at the moment. About three hours later the lockdown was declared over and everyone could go home. Abbi said bye to Melissa and grabbed her backpack. She walked to her truck her sister wasn’t there yet. Normally she would wait outside her truck but today it was pouring down rain so she got in. As she got in she identified a note on her window, so she got out and picked it up the envelope had her name written on it in pen. She got back in her truck and took out the note. As she was reading her letter her sister climbed into the truck Ashlyn said “what’s that” Abbi replied “oh hi, um a letter from Dakota” “what he finally is talking to you” “if you call this talking” the letter said
~Abbi,
I understand it’s been a few days and I haven’t returned your texts or phone calls and I apologize for that but I think we need to talk I miss hanging out with you every day. I also understand you’re probably mad at me since so close to our 1 year mark but if it’s ok I want to meet you and talk so if you would meet me at the river today at 3:30 I’ll be waiting.

“So Ash you want to go to the river for a while” Abbi asked her sister
Ashlyn replied “why what does that letter say and who are meeting?”
“Here read the letter, but if you don’t want to go ill drop you off at home” Abbi replied,
Ashlyn asked “do you know if Devin is going too”
Abbi replied “I don’t know, do you want to go, and what is going on between you guys anyway”
“I’ll go “ash said

When they got to the river, they watched as Dakotas’s car pulled into the parking lot. Abbi got out first and as soon as she did Dakota got out and waved at her, she just glared at him. When Ashlyn saw Devin in the passenger seat she pulled out her cell phone and text him meet me at the river by the rock she didn’t get a reply but he got out of his brothers car and walked away. So Ashlyn got out of the truck and walked down to her favorite spot by the river when she passed her sister and Dakota she noticed them still standing around when she walked by she heard
Abbi say “hurry up you have 15 minutes I have practice”
Dakota replied “what’s the matter with you”
Abbi shot back “what’s the matter with me what’s the matter with you, you ignore me for 3 days and you say something is wrong with me”
Dakota said “I’m sorry”
“Yes I’m sure you now I have to go to practice, good bye” Abbi said
After that She yelled “Ashlyn let’s go”

Ashlyn said to Devin “I’m sorry, well hang out tomorrow at 4 meet at the arena”
Devin replied “ok I’ll meet you at the arena, bye”
Ashlyn gave him a hug then walked away



CHAPTER ONE
It was mid august almost time for another year of school, Abbi her younger sister Ashlyn and their older brother Dylan were all in high school together Dylan was the oldest, he was a senior, then came Abbi as a sophomore, Ashlyn was the last one as a freshman. It was time to go school shopping again, Dylan woke Abbi, and Ashlyn up at 9:30. The three of them got up and left, they started at the local dinar for some breakfast. Then they went to the mall by now it was about 11 they all met up with Dylan’s girlfriend Arina, Abbi's best friend Melissa and Ashlyn best friend Cara. Dylan and his girlfriend went off by themselves, while Abbi, Ashlyn, Melissa and Cara went into Subrino their favorite store they looked around for a while then they grabbed some clothes. They all ended up buy 3 pairs of jeans and a coat. The next store they went to was Minera for some shoes. Abbi bought a pair of boots, Ashlyn bought a pair of flats, Melissa bought a pair of heels and flats, and Cara bought a pair of fuzzy boots. When they got done shopping for clothes they met back up with Dylan and Arina for lunch and then they went to the office sax for supplies. When they finished with all the shopping they dropped Melissa off her house then drove Cara home. When they got to their house there was a big package on their door step, Abbi and Ashlyn were out of the car first and up to the door.
