I saw her sitting all alone, a bar room princess on her throne - CountryMusicLover's Entry |
Dancing With A Heartache I saw her sitting all alone, a bar room princess on her throne and as I watched, she smiled at me across a glass of cheap Chablis. Her finger bore a pure white brand where her soft skin was left untanned. I didn't see, I didn't dare ... The truth was that I didn't care. Refrain: Come dance with me, come hold me tight for just a while, for just one night. Come share your dreams, come share your charms. I'm dancing with a heartache in my arms. Her eyes held promises unsaid by lips that glistened, moist and red; whispers I could not ignore as we moved slowly on the floor. We danced until the last-call shout. I took her hand and walked her out and, in the dark, I took a chance and asked her for just one more dance. Refrain: Come dance with me, come hold me tight for just a while, for just one night. Come share your dreams, come share your charms. I'm dancing with a heartache in my arms. We softly swayed, a last embrace; a gentle touch upon the face of the woman who was once my wife, who still has my heart for all her life. Come dance with me, come hold me tight for just a while, for just one night. I'll take tonight to ease my pain until it's Ladies Night again. I'll be here and so will she – leaving's not always easy. Come share your dreams, come share your charms. I'm dancing with a heartache in my arms.
